Community conservation is based around people’s livelihoods: farming, fishing and the harvesting of natural products. CBNRM has introduced new livelihood options. Conservancies have created jobs in resource management. Game guards patrol the land. Tourism is a source of new income opportunities, providing work in lodges and camp sites.
